All-World
Created by Stephen King in his DarkTower series
It is a place that is sparcely populated and filled with barren landscapes. It is a parallel universe where many of the common rules don't apply. Time is not regular and events often follow non-logical patterns. The Main character is Roland the Gunslinger. All-World made its first appearance in the novel The Gunslinger (The Dark Tower, Book 1) and there are seven novels in the series.

Corus (also known as Acorus)
Created by L.E.. Modesitt Jr. in the Corean Chronicles series
A central theme of these books is magic. Beasts and creatures can also possess magic but it can be unpredictable. There are currently five novels in the series.

Earthsea
Created by Ursula K. LeGuin in her short story The Word of Unbinding in 1964.
Earthsea was later made famous in her book A Wizard of Earthsea (The Earthsea Cycle, Book 1)the first book in a series of books of which there are currently six. There are also short stories that take place in Earthsea. Learn More about The Earthsea Series

Hyboria
Created by Robert E. Howard and the setting for the Conan of Cimmeria stories the Brak Mak Morn stories and others.

The Land
Created by Stephen Donaldson in the series The Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, The Unbeliever
The series currently has seven novels published and is projected to be completed in the tenth novel.

Lankhmar - A City in Fritz Leibers Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser Stories. The land this city is in is called Nehwon.

Middle Earth

Very strongly based on The Lord of the Rings - The author originally wrote it as a sequel to LOTR but the Tolkien estate declined the rights so Mckiernan re wrote it as a work unto itself.

Narnia

A great forested land created by the king, a great lion called Aslan. It is filled with talking animals and mythical creatures.

Osten Ard
Created by Tad Williams, the series is Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn
There are currently four books in the series and the first book is The Dragonbone Chair. The series is an epic fantasy story of a kitchen boy (Simon Mooncalf) who rises to power and fame.

Recluce
Created by L.E. Modesitt in The Saga of Recluse series
The world is one that focuses very heavily on magic. There are currently thirteen books in the series.
