It got it's name from the Island where the first atomic bomb was tested (Bikini Atoll) and the bikini has had the same impact on the world of fashion.When it was introduced in 1946 it wasn't well accepted but with time, (like all great ideas!) it gained acceptance. In 1956 The french sex kitten Brigitte Bardot wore a bikini in the movie "And God Created Woman". Since then there has been no turning back.
